During this semester, “Mjedra e Kosovës” selected farmer Nehat Bajraktari, a market actor of Caritas EREA, to develop a pilot project for sprinkler irrigation systems. The system has been successfully installed and is operational, with plans to conduct thorough testing next year. This year, high temperatures led to a decline in yield, highlighting the urgent need for innovative solutions.

The sprinkler system, which will be closely monitored throughout the upcoming season, is expected to serve as a model for the raspberry industry, helping farmers better adapt to climate challenges, particularly high temperatures. Next year, the Raspberry Day event will be held in Radavc village, where the benefits of this system will be demonstrated to stakeholders and farmers.
This activity was also featured at the 9th Raspberry Conference in Kosovo during the main presentation delivered by Kujtim Lepaja, further emphasizing its significance for the raspberry industry. This method, identified as one of the most innovative approaches for temperature reduction, is based on recommendations from Civitta and MEK, aiming to promote sustainable practices and enhance resilience in the raspberry sector.
